A lady was telling me about a child's story called Flat Sam. It is about a boy who is at the library and gets smushed by a falling bookcase. You take the flat doll cutout and mail it to several people. They in turn set Sam in front of several places and take his photo then send him back with descriptions of where he has been.

Yep. I did this when I was in about 4th grade, except for me it was called Flat Stanley.

I think you're talking about "Flat Stanley." My daughter's class did this exercise a few years ago. It was really neat seeing the pics the their flat selves had been & what they did.

The class read the story & then made their own image to mail to someone. It was a really neat project!

Im pretty sure that you mean "Flat Stanley"... he gets flat by a cork board falling on his head.
