so i told my sister inlaw something in confidence and she went and told my brother in-law..and now he wont speak to me or even look at me..i think its really rude how he's acting towards me..should i just ignore him??there will be people in a room and he'll say hi to everyone but me and ill ask him something and he'll be really short with me..so i dont know what to do

If you are to be mad at anyone it is your sister in law for breaking the confidence. Confront her!

Your sister in law should have kept what you told her confidential. If it was that bad she never should have told anyone. It was your secret not hers. So inretrospect you should say something to her about the fact that she has no respect for you and you don't appreciate the fact that she told words that you told her in confidence. Tell her your trust that you had with her is no longer there. And then speak to your brother in law and find out what it was that made him not want to speak to you anymore. Tell him that he was never to find out what was told to him and you are sorry about what was said. Let him know that you are really sorry. Just make sure he knows what was said was not for him to hear and was never meant to be said to him.

Just play his stupid game for now...eventually he'll come around. But since she told him something you didnt want then maybe you're in the wrong, so maybe just keep trying to talk to him untul he cracks...he cant be mad forever... as i say 'I can forgive, but I will never forget!' ....so, wait until hes ready. But, you need to be mad at her for betraying you! Good luck

ignore him and stick to what you said maybe this will help him. The sister-law never tell her something personal again, tell her that she betrayed your trust.
