I normally do, but this one showed a surplus and I was just put off. I didn't see anything to be proud of. That we have money allocated for work, that was not used and the work was also not done. I don't see any sense in that. I would be happy say all the work planned for the year 2006/2007 was completed and there were monies saved.

Absolutely, it´s just a pity that the municipalities (the end recipients of most of the budget) have done so poorly in distributing the money to the desperately needed projects, and that there are so many cases of fraud, negligence and incompetency in the various municipalities.

Anyway, committing something to paper means there would have to be a certain degree of responsibility and answerability (we hope), but as has been shown in the previous years the same people continue to complain and the same people continue to call them unpatriotic or racist for complaining.
Go figure?!

i actually do...
I'm just happy my mom wont be paying taxes for now since she doesnt earn much, and that things might be a bit easier for her.... I mean you live in RSA, every cent counts.
As for my side (still the sad tax payer), i need to know what is being done with my money...

No not anymore there is just nothing in it for the poor and elderly they have been abandoned by the fat cat scum bag politicians.

I do because i need to know how much taxes i'm paying and i also need to know where my money is going.Besides all this im an Accounting student so it is very relevant to my studies.
