Exercise is good to do at all points in your life. But I totally know where you're coming from. During my first trimester and even into my second trimester all I want to do is sleep. Since I rarely have the energy to do a full workout I'll try to do some prenatal yoga before bed and walk around as much as possible at work (taking stairs whenever possible). Every little bit helps!

They say that exercise helps ease labor and makes it go by faster. It helps you sleep and keeps the blood flowing right, so I would say yes, it is important they say walk 30 minutes a day.

Look for a prenatal yoga class in your area. I did yoga with my last pregancy and it really helped the labor. Yoga is good exercise that is not to stressful on your body.

Walk...lots of it...the only excercise I did was walking and it gave me what I needed..I would walk to and back home daily..45min each way...I believe it is important to build the strength you need for the trauma your body experiences during labour...helps improve on recovery quicker...it helped with my body bouncing back as quick as it did as well..go with what feels right...don;t push your body to hard...that baby is taking alot of it..just do enough that makes you feel good..good luck

Above all, ask your doctor. Some exercises are good, but if you overdo yourself it can harm the baby. The doctor can tell you how to exercise and how much you can exercise.

try walking around.. possibly some light dancing (this helps with labour pains too)..
Exercise helps you to deliver easier and helps you to cope with your children later!! (you'll need to start practicing your contortionist skills and eagle eye and your running around skills in the years to come).
