im about 5 weeks and i keep having dreams of having a miscarriage, no one in my family (that i know of) has ever had one, and even though my pregnancy was unplanned it would still kill me to have to go through a miscarriage, i was just wondering if my chances have gone down for having one now that ive missed a period.
thanks

your chances really only drop dramatically once you have passed the 12 weeks stage. however it it still possible after this to miscarry. miscarriage is not genetic so the fact that nobody in your family has experienced this is irrevlevant. too much worry and stress can induce miscarriage, heavy lifting etc, so take it easy. however it can also be caused by abnormalities with the specific egg or sperm.

This is a very very common fear among pregnant women. Try not to stress out about it. If it happens, it happens. Yeah, it sucks but there's really not much you can do to prevent it. Be sure to live a healthy lifestyle, remember to take your prenatal vitamins, and try to keep calm and relaxed. (Easier said than done I know!)
