I have been smoking now for almost ten years, and I am seriously starting to think its time to quit. I have done a little research, but I wanted to know from someone who has really quit, and what method they have used to kick the habit...

I used the patch to quit and it really helped me. I had smoked for twenty years and I quit in July '93. And that's the best thing I've ever done for myself. I am so glad that I quit. I wish you luck! It's not easy the first few days; but, you can do it and you will feel so much better!

I don't know very many methods but my friend usually chews gum like crazy. 10 years is a long time to break a habit, but ALL habits can be broken, so try to chew gum and also think about those TRUTH commercials. The ones when the man had a hole in his throat, the one when images were painted like people on the ground that had died. I promise you its not going to be easy, but try try try. I know you will succeed at this if you put your mind to it. Tobacco is not worth your health or your life Hun.

You grab your brain by it's stem and shake it until it listens to you... Not too hard though, because you still need it, just enough so that it understands who the boss is.

You master, brain slave...

Once you realize that, everything is different.

I know two otherwise healthy people who ate plenty of fresh antioxidants and lived healthy, even as smokers... Until both of them used the patch.... and both of them got Cancer... I don't think transdermal anything is such a great idea!

SOmetimes its hard to kick the habit. Try quitting cold turkey first (right now in other words) or limit your cigarettes bit by bit, and hopefuly you can quit.
