I just moved into a house where the owners smoked ALOT. Their car smells just as bad. Is there anything that can permanently remove that smell in time for me to move my things in? I have a time limit of one to two weeks.

you'll want to get the carpets professionally cleaned -that's the best way to get the smell out. then you may need to paint the walls, but if you can't, you'll need to at least wash them good with a strong cleaner to remove the buildup of the smoke & the smell. as far as the car - again, to a professional detailer to have it cleaned - the smoke can get into ALL the little cracks - i've had my car for almost a year now & had it cleaned & it STILL has smells in it from the previous owner! good luck!

Apples and Potato's...................peel..... them and cut them in to quarters place them on news paper and place piles of both in each room..Also wipe down all the walls with warm water and a pine cleaner and clean the windows...Iam not really sure why this works but I know it does....My brother owns a Body Shop/ car lot, and he uses this to get the smell out of cars that were owned by heavy smokes of that have had fire damage

Try burning scented candles. They seem to take out the smell more than anything else I've tried. With your car though, you may have to take it to one of those professional cleaning places and have the entire interior shampooed.

I steam cleaned the carpets and repainted the walls and ceiling. Frebreeze works too, and I'm sure the candles will help. Good luck.

I have heard that if you leave bowls of white vinegar around it will absorb the smell.
