i always deal with postal orders take it into your bank or local post office they pay out there and then same sort of thing as cash,its made by cash at post offices so pay out in cash,hope this has helped.

Since postal orders are what the banks call liquidated funds (i.e. it cannot "bounce") they should credit your account instantly. however, Your branch may not know that its a PO you're paying in and so may treat it as a cheque. Take the PO to a post office, they will pay you in cash immediately.

You can pay and uncrossed cheque into your bank account. The thing with uncrossed cheques is anybody can pay it into any account even if it has not got thier name on it, thats why most cheques are crossed and say account payee only.
