theoretically, but it's usually buried so far down it might as well not be there...

I'd like to think that there was some good in everybody, no matter how small. Even a serial killer might love his mother, for example, which is a redeeming feature in him. However, I fear that there are some people in the world who are well and truly evil through and through with not one iota of goodness in them.

Oh yes even Hitler used to add a little smiley face after he signed things. Like the Final Solution and Operation Barbarossa.
Theres a little bit of sunshine in everyone.

I believe that everyone has the "potential" for good, just as they have the "potential" for evil.
I think how a person behaves toward others is a combination of their past circumstances and whether or not something is seriously lacking/missing in their life.

I would love to believe this fully but i dont. I however believe that every person deserves a chance to prove themselves no matter what, usually there is some good in a person at sometime in their life.

of cource just some it takes more work then others to bring the good side out. this is because being bad and doing wrong comes so easily so many people rather take the easy road out. it isnt always right but in there eyes they rather have an easier life.

i use to be a firm believer that there was good in everyone. how wrong i was. in 2004 severe injustice was aimed my way by two people. they destroyed my career and sent me into a massive episode of depression and anxiety.
i saw the face of evil. it was ugly and still haunts my dreams after almost three years. there are evil people in this world. based on this experience i find it hard to find good in anyone.

When you read about serial killers and such, it's hard to believe that there might be good in them. I think that when it comes to some people, they have willingly forfeited their humanity by their actions, and they no longer possess anything good or virtuous. But then again, this is just a guess. Maybe God feels differently.

No...not everybody. Some, sure. Many, probably. Everyone, not likely.

Yes, relatively good...at least according to their own moral code. Which may not be good to you and I.
i.e. I think many of the Islamic extremists that commit suicide bombings believe they are doing "God's work" and that they are good people for it...though to us it is indescribably evil.
Good and evil are relative.

No, I don't. I think it is sad, but sometimes there are people who just have no good in them at all. I do think that at one time they probably had the potential to be good people but something happened to them that took that away.
