1. R Uthappa
2. V Sehwag
3. S Ganguly
4. S Tendullkar
5. R Dravid
6. Y Singh
7. MS Dhoni
8. H Singh
9. A Agarkar
10. Z Khan
11. M Patel
Its not fair to ask best 11, as there are lot of equally good pacers in the side with z khan, agarkar, pathan, sreesanth, m patel.
Its hard to pick the best 3 or 4 out of them, well it will only depend on their performance, i m sure greg chappell would give all of them equal chances, then selection would be on the basis of their performance and if there would be slow wickets then india might have to play two spinners then at that time india can only play 2 pacers from that list of 5 good bowlers incase if pathan doesnt come back in form, then a new problem would arise to remove one batsman from that line up and fit pathan at no.7, if they choose of play 5 bowlers with pathan as an allrounder.
Well picking the best 11 is a tough choice, as we still dont have sreesanth and pathan in there, well pathan will first have to prove his form in the practice matches then only he can come back, most probably he should do well.

all are good
India have everything and more
The team of 2007 is very steady.
Factors helping India -
The best indian team going for the World Cup after the 1983 Presidential Cup. India has found good openers in Ganguly and Uthappa, with Sehwag in there too. Yuvraj, Dravid, Dhoni and Tendulkar steady the middle order to form one of the best middle order batting. Lower middle order of Kumble, Harbhajan, Zaheer can hit a few runs too.
As on bowling - Zaheer and Sreesanth/Munaf Patel will be opening and are not as bad. Kumble, Harbhajan and Sachin - Sehwag can bowl many spin overs between them. That leaves one guy extra. He can be employed as a strike bowler - Irfan/Sreesanth or Dinesh Kaarthick as the 11th guy. Irfan can bat as well.
It is a very powerful batting line-up, and make take a beating on their bowling lineup.
Quality Fielders are in plenty - Yuvraj, Uthappa, Sachin, Kaarthick. Fielders like Munaf Patel will have to be hided on the field.
There are all winning chances for India. India will reach the semi-finals for sure.
India have enjoyed a great run in previous world cups as well.
In 1979 we were almost through to semis. In 1983 we won the cup. In 1987 we were in the semis. In 1996 we were in semis (because of indian crowd, match given to Sri Lankans). In 1999 we beat Pakistan (who earlier beat Australia). Then in 2003 we reached the finals.
Somethings which India need to work on to improve for the World Cup 2007 in the Caribbean -
Every Indian Player Has To Think About The Country Not Individual.
Play As A Team
Making of Master Game plan before every match
Play Mind games With Every Team
Good Net Practice Before Every Match
Relaxation Techniques
Good Fielding
Players Should Be Absolutely Fit Before Every Match

11. Sreesanth
There is only two spots that are debatable. Should Sehwag be in the final eleven? If he was not then there was no reason to take him on the tour. And Should there be Irfan, Patel, or Sreesanth in the team? My choice is Sreesanth. The rest of the players are the players that you can't do without.

strike - utthappa
non strike - ganguly --------- vice captain
1 down - dhoni
2 down - dravid ------------ captain
3 down - yuvraj
4 down - laxman
5 down - pathan
6 down - agarkar
7 down - kumble
8 down - sreesanth
9 down - patel
I think this is a perfect team for the world cup 2007 as it has 5 batsmen,2 wicketkeeper(includin dravid if dhoni gets injured) and 5 bowlers and i think that pathan and agarkar can bat too.i have kept dhoni at 1 down that if utthappa or ganguly gets out then dhoni would still improove the run rate and dravid and yuvraj and laxman under dhoni that if india is under pressure india would have a hitter as well as dravid and laxman who can save india by keeping the wickets saved and also playing steadily.
in bowling the opers may be patel and sreesanth for early 15 overs and can rotate the strike with pathan and from 16 to 35 overs there there can be kumble with agarkar and yuvrajand then from 36 to 50 overs the bowlers can have again pathan, sreesanth and patel.
with my planning i am sure india will win the world cup!!!!!
