There IS day and night on the Moon. A "day" on the Moon is 28 Earth days long, with 2 weeks of daylight and 2 weeks of darkness. But on the Moon the sky is totally black even during the day, as you can see in the pictures taken by the Apollo astronauts. Earth's daytime sky is blue due to sunlight scattering off air molecules, but since the Moon has no air the sky is just black all the time, even when the Sun is up and the ground is brightly lit.

No, that's not true. The moon rotates around the earth, but also around its own axis, so different sides are exposed to the sun at different times. The rotation period in Earth units is 27 days, 7 hours, and 43 minutes, so it would be a long day. Because it also takes exactly that long for the moon to orbit the Earth completely, that means that the same side is always facing the Earth (we never see the backside). So maybe that's where your source was confused, but it's the sun, not the Earth, that determines when a spot on the moon is sees daytime or night.

No that is not 'exactly' true. The moon does not spin as the earth does, the same side of the moon always faces the earth..so in that sense it's right.. however the moon does get periods of light and dark like we do just for a different reason. The earth actually blocks out the sun's rays when it passes between the moon and the sun. At that point the moon falls into total darkness. Then once it comes around again the suns rays once again reach the moon and there is light.

The Moon does have a day and night. The Moon takes around 27.5 Earth days for it to rotate upon its axis once, so that means a day on the Moon is 27.5 days on Earth. Both sides of the Moon point towards the sun sometime or another.

The moon has day and night. Anyone can see it for themselves if they don't believe me. What we call the phases of the moon, is actually day and night on the moon. The dark area you don't see is the night side of the moon, and the lit up part is the day side of the moon.

the moon has day and night but it does not turn like the earth does. there is always one side which faces the earth and one facing outward. as it turns it is exposed to the sun then after a period of exposure to the sun, it is covered by the earth. this is the period when we cants see the moon. ^^,

one side is dark just like the earth because moon rotates too like the earth. so it has day and night.
