My boyfriend and I have settled on the first name Gabriella for our baby girl, but he likes the middle name Antia (his grandmothers name) and I like Ann (which is the girl middle name for everyone in my family for generations including me). So help us out... which do you think sounds better.

Unfortunately, I'm not going to be much help because I like both; however, "Ann" is sort of a compromise as being a diminutive of, or short for "Anita".

Gabriella Ani is cute ~ some Ann ~ Almost Anita

Or you could switch it up altogether and do Gabriella Tiana ~ an anagram of "Anita" but still has the "Ann" sound.

Love the Gabriella, and compromising in some way is always best!

How about you put both of the names together so it would be Gabriella Antia Ann i think that would be a perfect match for a little girl

i think that you should have 2 middle names that way the tradtion stays in ur family and he get to have his grandmother name carried on and then you both will be happy so i think that you should call you little girl Gabriella Antia-Ann it is not wrong to have two names i know lots of people that have more than one middle name some even have three.

I like the name Ann, personally. It sounds better with Gabriella! Gabriella is a long name in and of itself so you should add something short and sweet for the middle name!

Unless his mother is dead, then go with Anita
My mom died when I was ten, There was not way a part of her name was not going to be in my Daughter
I have two siblings that did the same with the first girl
If not you first, you are caring the child
Best Wishes

I think it would be fair to name the middle name after his grandma...Anita*, at least it still has the Ann part in there* but would be understood by your family if you choose to call her Gabriella Anita* or try to convince him that you really do prefer Gabriella Ann*
