I know someone who waited a year to get a Gibson Les Paul Standard, but felt it was worth the wait, because he really likes the way this guitar performs. He has 3 other guitars, but bought this one purely for the sound and the look, and says the Gibson Les Paul Standard guitar has EXACTLY the sound he was hoping to achieve. It's thick and powerful, and has a bite on the high end that sets it apart from similar guitars, even the Les Paul Supreme.

Someone else I know just bought a Gibson Les Paul Classic two weeks ago, and he hasn't been able to put it down since. He claims the Gibson Les Paul Classic has clean. crisp sounds for jazz songs, but also has an amazing sharpness to it. He says he has had no problems with the guitar, and the action is perfect.

If you're interested, both the Gibson Les Paul Standard guitar and the Gibson Les Paul Classic guitar are on sale at a website called, Gibson Guitars On Sale ( http://download-sheet-music-online.com/gibson-guitar-sale.html ).

It's really hard to say. I've owned both and I love the classic premium plus I have now. It looks cooler and sounds better. The other guitars neck felt better but I've gotten used to the classic now. If you played the standard and liked it, I'd say you made a wise choice. It's never a bad idea to buy a Les Paul ;)...
