Your question is a trap. It is like asking "Have you stopped beating your wife?" There is no militant police state in Iraq or the United States. There are, however, murderous, militant groups throughout Iraq who, in order to overthrow the democratically elected rulers and impose their own oppressive regime, are killing innocent Iraqis using death squads, suicide bombers, and car bombs.

Your assumptions are wrong.

That you do not wish to have facts speaks volumes about you and your question.

The extension of the American police state into its occupied satellite nations, specifically Afghanistan and Iraq, was inevitable. Americans have become so self-absorbed in their own prosperity that they have failed to note the ever-expanding reach of the government over the last twenty-five years, especially during Republican administration that were elected primarily on platforms promoting "small government."

Quite simply, it appears that most people would rather rely on the government to tell them what the prinicples of the US Constitution mean or not, rather than being bothered to think about them for themselves...much less to question whether the government is defending those principles or not.

In my opinion, I don't care if they set up a completely new, brutal dictatorship that goes on a genocidal rampage against its own people. If the result is a stable ally in the Middle East to buffer us against the threat of terrorism, I'm all for it. If and when they begin policing us the same way.....well, we'll REALLY see what Americans are made of.
