How could Doomsday beat hold his own against one of the Guardians?

I suppose he could deveop an immunity against the green energy, similar to the way Solomon Grundy developed a partial immunity to it, years ago. When the Original GL, Alan Scott fought the Swampland Savage, he put SG in a power ring bubble and sent him into eternal orbit. But SG developed a measure of control over the energy, and was able to make the bubble de-orbit and landed on Earth again.

So, Doomsday could probably do something similar.

Now, here’s what the Guardians OUGHT to do, to trap Doomsday once and for all: throw him in a big black hole. That’s what Superman was going to do with Mongul after the (out of continuity story by alan Moore) For the Man who Has Everything. Mongul handily beat Wonder Woman and was wiping the floor with Superman when Robin (Jason Todd! It was his finest hour) turned the tables on Mongul and caught him in his own trap.

Superman decided to throw Mongul into a certain black hole he knew of. Now, things equal to the same thing are supposed to be equal. Doomsday and Mongul were both able to beat Superman (though Mongul was interrupted) thus I say that if Superman thought that the black hole could contain Mongul, it could contain Doomsday.

Please do not say to me that Doomsday can evolve to beat anything, because the black hole is one of the basic forces of the universe, gravity. He can’t defeat that. Doomsday is still just a part of the universe, not separate from it, like Galactus is not part of this universe.

well...As I understand Doomsday, the gist of his powers are that after each defeat he evolves to adapt. That being the case, over time he would eventually evolve to overcome the Guardian's green light.

Given his sentience, the best course the guardians could take is marooning him on a planet that doesn't support life and then posting GLs around it to keep everyone away, even that might be too late though. I am sure at this point Doomsday has already fought a Green lantern.
