Is there a way to save an image (not a picture but an image of your files and programs) of my harddrive as an executable file that can be executed and set all my preferences and programs back to the way they were? I know this is kind of in depth and i doubt anyone is computer savy enough to know on here but if anyone knows could you please tell me? thanx

You appear to want a snapshot image of your computer at one point in time. There's no executable per say...however one of the best imaging solutions is Norton Ghost.

Ghost can capture your entire harddrive image - one snapshot in time. You can easily revert to that snapshot later on.

Of course you can capture multiple snapshots depending on how much space you have.

yes there is but you need a program like Norton ghost, it should be able to make a image of your hard drive and programs, not sure it will be an exe file like you would like, but you would be able to reinstall ghost and then it can put the image back to your hd
