The worst months in Phoenix are usually July and August. Unless you like the 110+ degrees weather it's pretty miserable! It's also monsoon season so not only is it extremely hot but it's a sticky hot, very humid. A/C is a must.

I'm a baby about the winters but that's because I was born in raised in Arizona. I've seen snow like twice my whole life. It gets about 40 - 50 degrees at night in the winter which most people would consider to be nothing, but to me it's absolutely freezing.

Im laugh'g at some of these responses.

I guess most of U arent Phx natives or U would know this 1. Mid June to Mid July is considered the Hottest Month of the Year. It's when we are the closest to the sun. ~ Scientifically.

As for the months I saw U guys picked, Really U cant pick just 1. I've seen 100 or + degress from Mid~March to the end of the 1st wk of November in my Observations.

Hottest Recorded Month was June of 1991 in Phoenix.
Hottest temperature I've lived in, in my whole life here (32 yrs), 128 in Wittmann, Az ~ last summer in July

~ I moved to Wittmann, cuz for what houses cost in town I could buy 1 out here w/ over an acre of land, no Home Owner's Assoc, & the neighbors dont live close enough to call the cops on me for being loud or tuning quads, sand rails, or vehicles at 1am to go off~roading or to the Dunes in Cali.

~ I remember that day cuz it seem'd like my a/c was on All Day Long.

July or August, thats when the monsoons are going and the temperatures are generally over 110 almost every day! In June it gets really hot too, but not as humid because the monsoons generally arrive after July 4th.

August!!!! 110 degrees is great any other time. I'll take a Phx 110 over an East Coast 80 any day. But in August we have humidity too. It'll rain a couple times a week. Ick.

Define worst. June is the most brutally hot in most years...often near or over 110 F. But that's also the "dry heat" time. July through early September can be a bit cooler but with more humidity...still over 100 degrees though.

As for us "natives"...the general attitude toward the heat gets worse as the summer wears on.

In July the weather cannot get any hotter or we would have our own global warming. But it is great for swimming and what not. In January and Febuary however, the weather is usually the coldest (it doesn't get below 29 though) and it stays dry until march and april.

I would have to say monsoon season which is July-August. But, lets not be mistaken the summer its self is hot. I mean very hot if you are not used to it. Who am I kidding weather you are used to it or not the summer months are hot.
