Yes, depending on the size and the crocodile's size. A 30 foot saltwater crocodile can easily kill a 5000 pound elephant with no problem.
A average adult 16 foot male saltwater crocodile will have no chance with a average size Asian Elephant.
A saltwater crocodile could take on water buffalo, cattle, domestic livestock and horses.
A 2205 pound horse was kill under a minute by a large saltwater crocodile.
EXTRA:
Many people say a lone tiger can take on a fully grown Asian Elephant, FAKE.
That is so unbelieveable, I've see a 5000 pound elephant escape from a pride of lion. The lions had fought with him all day and night and he still escaped.
Many people also say a 120 kg tiger can kill and 1200 kg gaur.
The biggest thing I saw a tiger kill was 600 pound water buffalo, and the tiger was 300-400 pounds. Even with that the tiger had a hard time bringing it down.

Depends on where, who, and how many...
1. On land- oh yeah
2. In shallows- oh yeah
3. Swimming...here come the problems
Is it swimming with one croc or many?
Is it going far?
Is the water deep?
Many crocs(often mob large prey) could swamp the creature and drag it under(especially if it's young) They go for the face and cut of the animals ability to breathe, while others grab legs and swim downwards.
Odds are in favor of the Elephant (as long as it knows its place)
but it's not impossible.
