I am 25 yrs old and have recently (three weeks ago) started an intensive weight- training and kick- boxing program, incorporating creatine mono hydrate as well as the "abs diet". I am however not seeing the results that I expected to in terms of muscle growth/ build up, even though I have noted much higher fitness levels and an all over cardio- vascular improvement. Can anyone suggest a more effective training regime that is geared toward muscle growth as well??

High Protein diet in addition to the creatine. Muscle mass juse does not build over night. Remember to increase your size; more calories in and less calories out.

Have you seen muay thai kickboxing they dont work on muscle mass but they are fit, fast, strong, lethal and can break bamboo with their shins, awesome sport. Anyway what im trying to say is cardio is very important. Increasing muscle mass takes time so dont give up. Try lifting heavier weights with less reps or try using the matrix system which involves lifting the weight to 1/3 of way ,back down,up all the way, then 3/4 up then back down alternate these reps it confuses the muscle and makes it grow faster ( thats the theory any way) just like they say go for a jog then sprint, then slow down, then go half pace then back to jog, sprint so on. that also works with stamina training. good luck dont expect results over night persisance is the key. I wouldnt advise it but you may be able to go on a two month trial of steroids through your doctor. but carefull on that one

For as much as you are doing, 3 weeks is not enough time to see change. Your body condition prior to beginning this was not described so to know how much "work' your body is doing is internally is going to be difficult to determine. You are not working on a house, you are working on your body and while you may not see immediate external results, that does not mean that changes are not taking place. Stick with it and also realize that you are going to hit plateaus every now and then and need to keep working through them. If you ar not seeing results after 3 month, then maybe look at adjusting your regimen.

For muscle growth, you should add more weight to whatever you're already lifting. That will spur muscle mass. Combining weight training with cardio kind of work against each other as the cardio will slim you down lbs. wise but the weight training will add lbs. as muscle is heavier. You're working against yourself.
