how do i get the tiny root, veins off the wall from chopped down ivy ?

chopped down ivy off the outside of the house last year but im left with tiny thread roots allover my brick work , tried with a wire brush but it makes the brick work bright red , any chemicals or tools i can use ?

try a blowlamp and burn roots of, do it on dry day. it worked for
me no problems.
