What size shoe does a 3-4 month old baby girl wear? I'm looking at ordering some summer sandals for my new niece to be for this summer and she will be about 3-4 months old and I don't know what size shoe to get her. Does any one know what size?

Thanks everyone, maybe I should just stick to the cute outfits, which are adorable!

Seeing your answers I'm now understanding why I can't even find sandals for babies. They start at 12-18months.

Babies don't need shoes. In fact, my mother bought me a whole assortment of beautiful shoes for my little girl when she was born, and she never wore any of them. I ended up having to give them away to another naive, unsuspecting couple. You see, baby's feet are very thick and you won't likely be able to squash them into shoes, even just for the appearance. It takes a while for their arches to form and you wouldn't want to interfere with that development by restricting their feet, anyway. I still have trouble squashing my 2-yr old's feet into shoes! I wouldn't worry about shoes until the child is ready to walk , and then try something with a flexible sole (like Robeez, for example) to help them adjust to the feeling of shoes on their feet.

Honestly it depends on the size of her foot, of course. But my daughter wore a size 1 or 2 depending on the brand when she was that age. And I would look for an all canvas sandal it's better for the babies feet. Or you might try a pair of Robeez sandals the come in sizes 0-6 months 6-12months etc. They are popular right know too. Hope this helps!

No because all babies have different sized feet.

However, your niece is going to have absolutely no use for hard soled sandles which are bad for baby's feet. They might get put on for one picture and that's it. So just get the length of her foot now and add an 1", better too big than too small.

Newborn's shoes are a 1...so a 2 or 3. How big is she? My newborn daughter was almost 10 lbs...she has a pair of shoes that say 0-6 mos. and they just fit her, they will not fit her long! Include a gift receipt!

I agree with one of the other posters comments, really at that age they shouldn't be wearing shoes constantly. Their feet are still growing rapidly. Maybe get some slip on sock type booties, if you know what i mean. Atleast it keeps their little tootsies warm.

Wishing you all the best ;-)

I guess it depends on the size of your baby's feet. At birth my son's feet were big. so you should wait till summer and then go shopping for shoes. Kids feet can really grow.

no shoes are necessary and actually hard soled shoes hinder regular development.

if you're going to do any sort of "cute shoes" you can try robeez which are designed for infants without restricting or constricting their growth.

but it is fun to buy things for little girls!
