I started watching the series again on DVD from season 1. There is a lot I have forgotten. The "gender bender" episode I didn't get at all. It left a lot of unawnsered questions, can anyone explain it to me? Thanks!

I thought this one was a bit weird, but I'll try my best to explain it. Basically, there are a bunch of weird people living out in the amish-type community. Two of their people escaped into the world and when they have sex with someone, they kill them and become the opposite sex of what they started out as (man or woman). They can seduce anyone that they want, I believe just by touching them. They just commit murder and stuff until Mulder and Scully catch them. I didn't quite get the plot the first time I saw it. When Mulder went into that cave, I guess they were implying with the chanting and the weird clay that they can change a person from man to woman and vice versa. Then, they implied that they were aliens and they all flew away on a spaceship. Very comfusing. This episode wasn't one of the best of the X-Files, it was one of the worst, unfortunately. So, yes, there were many things that were left unexplained because they left some loose ends. You didn't miss anything and there was nothing extra that was said to answer the questions that were left unanswered, they just never ended it correctly. I guess we'll never know what happened. There's not much to explain, 'cause I don't think that many people understood it in the first place. Good luck.
