Love is a feeling or a condition of the mind consisting of great happiness and great suffering, increased sensitivity, excitement and hope in relation to its subject - person of opposite sex (or sometimes the same sex, and in other cases animal, thing, art or activity... depends on lover). In the second step it is equivalent relationship between two souls, but not about winner and looser, not about overwhelming, controlling or surrender. Both sides are growing in love.

There are diferent types of love,if you are talking about the love of a couple are a lot thinks to explain.Love its a chimical process,some experce say that won't last to much,but still some couples after 50 years of marriage are saying that they are still inlove,so in conclusion love its something special,hard to explain 100 per cent,so all you need to know is that its a great felling and to enjoit it:)

i dont study master of psychology, so i'm just gonna express it in my own way :)
when we love something that means we care & see its beauty & sometimes even devote time & sacrifice for it . (ex: love the house; love your career; love music; love your mum).
When it comes to romantic love, it is the same but goes much further to the extent that, that person means the most to you, has an influence over you (more than any other people) and you could even sacrifice the world for them. either you've realised their bad sides or not, you still choose to tolerate/ or believe in their good sides more.
sometimes ppl use "love" unconciously which leaves the sentence meaningless & even lame :S ( a cashier told me " $50, love" ==> !!! )
we shouldn't try to define love in a scientific way. everyone thinks differently.
