In the past six years, nothing has been done to reverse abortion and gay rights, and Bush extended the Brady Bill to divest conservatives of their 2nd amendment rights....
Republicans talk out their rear ends on these issues....

I think it is a little premature to speculate on anyone having a lock on the White House at this point. The real campaigning has not begun in earnest yet. Presidential candidates have a tendency to self destruct when the real pressure starts and one wrong word can kill a campaign. I am a conservative independent and I am not distressed by any candidate, except for Hillary. I am not looking for a good conservative, or a good liberal. I am not looking for a Republican or a Democrat. What I am looking for is someone who has the best interests of the people at heart. Frankly, I am not sure we are going to get that from any of the potential candidates in the next election. So, in the end I will examine the platforms of the two people who win the primaries. Based on those platforms I will choose the candidate who most closely resembles my belief in what is best for the United States. If we disagree on some issues, but agree on others then this is just the nature of politics. We do not always get exactly what we want in all areas no matter who is elected.

I'm a Democrat , & have confidence the party can screw this up like they did nominating Kerry in 04. I'm a liberal conservative, or a conservative liberal depending on how you choose to label me, but I know enough about politics to know a lot can & will happen in the next 20 months.
Sit back & learn something my friend. The eventual winner in 08 may not even be in the race yet...and NO I'm NOT referring to Mr Global Warming!!
BTW Timothy....not sure if you heard yet but abortion is legal in this country right now, & there is no imminent danger of that fact changing, regardless of what you may think. Check out the Supreme Court decisions on this topic. Is that the biggest issue WE face as Americans? I personally have no qualms about gay unions either, but is THAT the biggest issue facing America?
No wonder we get the leaders we do , look at the issues we base all of our choices on. Good love ya, I'm pro choice , but that DOES NOT mean pro abortion. But then I don't expect to need an abortion in this life...do you Timothy??

Make your strategies up already... one minute he's so a techniques left he makes Chairman Mao look like Ann Coulter, the subsequent he's a conservative in hide? with a bit of luck Obama can attain around the divide and include bipartisanism, something that's heavily lacking in this talk board... *edit* and no you probably did no longer say real wing, anybody with eyes can see you stated "How long will American liberals tolerate yet another conservative Democrat interior the White abode"

LOL, no, I am not. Giuliani, first off, is not a Liberal. He is a moderate Republican. Hillary is hated by too many Americans, so she doesn't have a chance. I won't go into her history as a lying thief, you might know that already. Obama is a Muslim, he has little experience in government, only 2 year as a Senator, his last name sounds too close to Osama, and his middle name is Hussein. He doesn't have a chance. John McCain will be our next president. He is the most qualified, in Americas present situation, with all of his experience in war (Vietnam), and as Senator for YEARS of Arizona.

As a conservative out of the front runners I would be happy with Rudy. I am first and foremost Fiscally conservative and I think Rudy could really do some good in that arena. As far a the other issues, I do have my own beliefs, but I dont see too much changing in those areas right now anyway and I feel we have bigger fish to fry at this point.

Giuliani has so many more leadership qualities that I can overlook his less than conservative views on these three issues. A president doesn't really have much influence over these issues anyway unless justices are being selected. I'm sure Giuliani will make good choices in this area. So I really don't have an issue. I predict Giuliani will be our next president by a landslide.
Btw: the answer above me is funnier than h_ _ _ Thanks for the chuckle ;-)

Funny, how far away is the election? That's right, many months and much can happen between now and then. Just a few years ago, everyone claimed coward kerry would be the man but he didn't make it. Same thing with Gore and guess what, independent companies counted the hanging chads and gore lost. When will the libs finally accept that they truly lost in 2000.

Let's see: My wife's not having an abortion and I have no daughters, I've got all the guns and ammo I need to arm myself and 10 friends (who also tend to have a hoard stashed just in case), and, again, I'm married, so....these are all non-issues in my book.
As long as Rudy keeps taxes level and reassures the world we're not planning on expanding our borders, I'm ok with him.

Rudy has my vote, so far. and that's because he is big enough to tell certain people to kiss his *** when they try to give him blood money.
this election for me national security is far more important than anything you've named. IMO if we don't focus on our security we won't have to worry about the rest of your issues as we won't be here anymore.
and Lord help us if Obama gets in- he'll invite the UN into our government with an engraved invitation. Hillary will just change the laws so she'll be queen forever.

I hope they're so upset that the South leaves the union. Then the rest of America can resume its original greatness, which was constructed in Boston and Philadelphia. The Southern mentality would fit right in with Haiti anyway.
