find the percent when the amount and base are known

amount / base = percent

divide 175 by 280

175 / 280 = 0.625

Multiply the decimal by 100 and attach the % sign

0.625 x 100 = 62.5 %

so they are asking for the percentage
=175/280*100
= 62.5%
