The key is to start off by making butter, which you do by boiling the weed in water with some butter added. Boil it for as long as possible, though at least 2-3 hours. The THC (the active ingredient) will leave the plant material and dissolve in the water. Then you need to filter out the sediment (the dregs of the chronic, which no longer have any THC in). You can use a colander or sieve, though pantyhose works the best. You should be left with all the liquid, which you then leave to cool. The butter, now greeny-brown and very potent, will rise to the top and harden. Scrape this off the top and, voila, you have weed butter.
Add this to any recipe that uses butter (preferably something sweet, such as cakes, cookies, slices etc). I prefer to make really strong butter, then mix it half-half, or even less, with normal butter, as the taste of the weed butter is horrible, and the more normal butter you use, the closer the taste will be to the traditional recipe. The more chronic and less butter you add in the beginning, the stronger the weed butter.
You can follow this process with any grade of weed. It's great way to get the most out of low-quality gear, such as leaf, as you are concentrating the THC.
