That's silly thing to do. Now I can see kicking the person out for trying to start trouble and constantly degrading the players and/or other people around them in the stands. There are too many fights/riots that happen at sports events now and to do something about that I can see, but not the booing and occasional outburst. But even so, people did it to themselves, and it only takes one to ruin it for the rest. Looks like there have been just one too many fights/riots at sporting events. Have to remember, there are kids and families there and to have some guy constantly yelling out profanity and showing a lot of rage many parents do not want their kids exposed to this. So if anything, they could ban the use of foul language and abrasive actions, but for booing, I find that going a bit too far.

This is the dumbest rule I EVER HEARD IN MY LIFE. WHY ban it? its apart of sports. Now banning crappy remarks to the players yeah they should ban that. But booing is apart of sports. Washington State people need to get a clue badly. No wonder sports ain't that popular there. Its okay to boo the other team and the officials. IF the game would be peaceful like that, then it wouldn't be fun to goto. Plus they had Pompoms with text printed on them and artificial noisemakers are not allowed. Printed foam fingers are also banned. Only the official school banner may be in the stands; no other signs are allowed. WHAT? They just DEAD there. There is nothing wrong with booing. The PROBLEM is people chanting "You suck" to those kids and other things. THAT SHOULD BE BAN. And dumb *** parents who get into fights at these games. They should be ban. There's always a crappy state like Washington who wanna ban something so stupid.

I come from Europe. In my country basketball comes right after soccer. The booing is simply part of sports. Without it, eveything would become as plastic and circus-like as NBA.

Players are concentrated into the game, and unless lighters, coins or similar are being thrown, the athmosphere of booing and going for one's team is simply fantastic. Many people come and enjoy simply the athmosphere. There is chemistry in that.

There was one player who used to play in NBA too, called Drazen Petrovic. He played better when he was under presure of the boo...

Prohibiting the boo would be like prohibiting Kareem Abdul Jabbar the hookshot, or prohibiting a longer than six seconds backward dribble... I would rather prohibit anyone with such idea to ever again have anything to do with basketball. So regressive.

Some sports do suffer because of idiots who manage the rules (NBA, handball, soccer), unlike some other (volleyball, tennis, American football), but interfering with cheering is the one step to Orwell 1984. Would they afterwards decide to not allow us to speak about the game?

I would allow any kind of verbal insult as well. Why not? Players are professionals. As long as there is a line inbetween, everything should be acceptable. After all, spectators pay for the show.

Imagine what would the ancient Greeks say to this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Too bad money is taking over the sport spirits...

It will never pass!

The minute they restrict a civil display of emotion like cheering for one team or the other it will either be ignored completely or voted down.

Not to mention the number of fans who would just refuse to go to a game to actually see it if they thought they would be arrested for freely speaking their piece of mind.

It's ridiculous.
It violates the 1st Amendment of the U.S. Constitution
It is not enforceable.
