As a person that Judges for the NFL let me please give you a few pointers. Please do not do a piece that the character is raped, tortured or killed. Pieces like this are done over and over and over, you can be dramatic without it. Please try to find something different. There are two pieces out there in which a girl is brought underground and raped by the neighbor. Um not so good and everyone does it. Try to find something that fits you and is something that fits your age. Alot of time when I see people they just don't fit the scripts! Make sure you pick a complete piece that tells a story don't do a segment that is really good but does not have an end. Remember you can also do scenes from Movies. Terms of the Heart..Great. There is even some good parts in movies like Benny and June, The Other Sister, Hope Floats ect... Think outside the box! Here are some other good pieces:
The Cat Lady Nathan Allen
Shane a Vision of Blinded Love Wendy C Rivera
October and June O. Henry
His Oath Christy C Stutzman
Dandelion Wine Ray Bradbury
Fame has some good parts
Good Luck!
