Although they say that the best time to fall pregnant is around 14 days after your period, I dont believe that this is neccessarily true in all cases.

I am 8 weeks & 5 days pregnant & I know I definatley concieved either 2 days before my last period started or 4 days after my last period ended.

So there goes the theory!!

Also, my friend concieved during the last couple of days of her period whilst she was still 'spotting', so again, there goes the theory!

Good Luck if u are trying to concieve!! :-)

Pregnancy only occurs when one of the many sperm released durring intercourse, fertilizes an egg which has been realsed from an ovary. therfor your chances of concieving when your not ovulating are nil. However, this is not a proven form of contraception. No-one can ever be 100% certain if you will or will not ovualte each month. An egg only survives for 24 hours, so needs to be fertilized durring that time. AT exactly what time that is, no-one ever knows. Sperm can live up to 3 days in your body. So lets say you had sex on monday night, and you ovulated thursday morning, you could still get pregnant.

I'm not sure wiether your TTC or are looking for an alternative form of contraception, but a talk to your GP will help you come up with a solution that is best for your circumstances.

No without ovulation an egg isnt released so no little sperms can fertilize it.Without ovulation the chances of concieving are 0.But woman who have poly cystic ovary syndrome dont ovulate very often or atall but some have become pregnant because all of a sudden 1 egg was released and they happend to get lucky.ovulation also is 99% of the time only around 15 days before your next cycle theres a 1% chance it is diffrent than this,But it has been known. When you ovulate your discharge becomes like raw egg white and more stretchy some woman also feel ovulation as a slight discomfort in either tube depending on which one is releasing an egg.An opk(ovulation kit)can detect ovulation and also can charting your basal temprature if your unsure if you ovulate or are trying to concieve.

The few days leading up to ovulation are considered the most fertile in a woman’s cycle. This is because sperm can survive for up to seven days in a woman’s body (on average they live for 3 days). If a woman has sex or insemination during the six or seven days before she ovulates, it is likely that the sperm will still be around by the time her egg is released.

One or two days after ovulation are also considered fertile days because a woman’s egg can live for about 20 hours after ovulation. If two eggs have matured, the second will be released within 24 hours of the first. From a few days after ovulation until her next bleed, a woman is generally not fertile.

After ovulation, although you are most fertile mid-cycle, eggs can remain viable, and sperm can remain motile for quite some time so it's never safe to assume you really don't need contraception!

To be succesfull at conceiving you need to have intercourse about 5 days prior to ovulation, during and 2 days following. This is because sperm can live for 5 days in your body and the egg can be fertilised for 2 following its release.
Therefore you cant actually conceive when your not ovulating but you can begin having intercourse on the days leading up to it to ensure the sperm are ready and waiting where they need to be! Good luck!

You have to be ovulating to actually conceive. But if you have unprotected sex before you ovulate, you could still get pregnant that month as sperm can stay alive in the body for up to 7 days

if you dont ovulate then you want be able to get pregnant. If you have problems with ovulation your doctor can arrange for you to see a fertility doctor who can give you a drug to help you ovulate although there is no 100% guarentee that the fertility medicine will work and result in pregnancy. good luck

Sperm can live in your sytem for up tp five days so the window of when you can conceive is quite large. Fertlity is best around ovulation and worst during/after menstruation but it is always possible!

its better to have sex before you ovulate to maximise the Chance of the sperm waiting. sperm can live up to 7 days in the vagina so i advice having sex 4 days before ovulation and then carry on for a further 5 days, that way you should hit ovulation day. if you prefer sex every other day. good luck xx

If there is no egg present, you can not become pregnant. But, predicting ovulation is not an exact science. ibabydust.com has an ovulation calculator that will help you best predict when you are fertile. http://ibabydust.com/tools/ovulation_calendar/
