Isn't everyone unless they've got a companion?

Strangers are as good as loneliness.

What is "Being alone in a crowd"?

'being alone in a crowd' could also mean you are with a crowd not by choice but only because you have to (work e.g.) what i mean is in that crowd, you don't feel sense of belongingness, you feel (or that it is a fact) that you are not accepted where your upbringing comes into scrutiny by the crowd. Or that you think differently from others, and they can't see your point the way you're looking at it.

I don't understand your thesis as how it doesn't parallelize with your anti-thesis. could you please explain elaborately what you mean because if i were to make the question logical
the thesis would be:
What is 'being alone in a crowd' all about?
the anti-thesis would be:
Isn't everyone EVEN IF they've got a companion?
I still would like to dig through your thoughts, you must have meant something else.

Comparison, as to being alone with a group of 10 people may not be overwhelming since you know why you don't or do want to talk to them, where as in a crowd, it is overwhelming. The brain cannot even begin to assimilate the information because it has no basis, the people are only passer's by, but you are still alone.

Even though you are in a room full of people you feel all alone. Strangers have the potential to be companions but if you are all alone in a crowed maybe you just can't seem to connect with anyone.

this is like going to a large city to lose yourself.

once you become one soul in a vast sea of humanity, the chances you will stand out become smaller, and you feel more isolated. less an individual, more like a little fish in a big sea, you are now alone in the crowd.

Being alone in a crowd can mean many different things.
You can be in crowd of people all of whom you are aquainted with..but not one of them truly knows the real you nor do they seem to care to know you.

It is a feeling inside you. It makes you feel like you are by yourself, alone, although there are many people around you, they may have common intrests and you feel left out because you do not share these intrests.
