I am in need of a money making venture and wonder if this business could work. the emergency stairs are hardly used and if a fire occurred the people would be safer by using the rafts. The water would also stop any fires from progressing. Fire hoses are positioned at the top of the stairs. Please give me the benefit of your worldly experience in how to overcome problems or what to look out for. Thanks David T. Sounds like a cracker of an idea to me, the sharp 90deg bends the 56deg gradient no chance of stopping till you get to the exit, im just unsure you will be able to maintain the flow of water with a poxy fire hose, it would be best if you filled the stair well full put an industrial pump at the bottom the pumps the water back into the top at a massive rate of say about 100litres per second, this would also create mini whirpools around the sharp angles.

Forget evacuating people. You could use that as a white water training school. Set your people at the top of the stairs, pull the fire alarm and dodge the people on the stairs as you would rocks in the river. Good luck. Wish I thought about that.
