I find a hot water bottle placed on your tummy does amazing things, and also a pillow supporting your back.
There's not much else, but steer clear of coffee as this can make it worse - well, it does for me.
No other thing but just ride it out. Hope you feel better.... men just don't have a clue do they?!?!

I have also had very painful periods for all of my life ever since my menstruation began. I have had to go to see a doctor and got prescribed very strong pain killers. They work very well but still I don´t feel well and usually I just want to sleep. So if at all possible for you, you could take strong pain killers and sleep untill they start to work, you will feel better then. Also when I started taking birth control pills my period pain has been gone almost totally. What a really wonderful feeling!

A hot water bottle. Works wonders. Also there are thermal wraps available now in chemists. These are particularly good for period pains and aching joints etc. There's also a heat wrap available which you put into the microwave and heat up. Poor you I know how you feel!

You are doing everything that you can for the pain at this point. For some women, going on the pill lessens the pain and duration of periods, maybe this is something to consider if you aren't already on it. Good luck!

i had a really bad problem with period pain i went on one kind of medication for a year, i forgot what they were called but i became immune to them or something so i went on the pill and it worked.
I used to use nurofen i found that as the best pain killer but took a couple hours to work, hot water bottles or heated cushions are good.
Exercise my work too, even if its something small

Well for the future I would recommend seeing your doctor as they can prescribe really good pills but for now...I would say resting and just relaxing helps. Also there are some positions which can help such as kneeling down and tucking your head down to your knees which stops the pain momentarily.

I would suggest hot sweet tea, used to help me if I was feeling nauseous. Don't worry too much about your diet - if you fall off today you can restart again tomorrow.

Really dark chocolate (60-70%) shouldn't be a problem for your diet, not many calories and low fat too. it has lots of magnesium in it which is not found in many other foods. i find that effective! good luck.
