this is kind of a ? but more of a warning........i received an update from windows telling me my software needed to be updated.......it contained both a hijacker and trojan...i found that out after running McAfee spyware scan.....any1 else had that problem?

You may infected with some virus/worm/spyware creating fake notification to get you downloaded virus to your PC.
You need to scan your entire PC.

There has been no issues with this reported to either Yahoo or Microsoft, and quite frankly this is a first for me as well. I have never heard of contaminated Microsoft products.
I updated my updates around 3 days ago and everythign is fine.

If you are CERTAIN that the update cause the problem please inform Microsoft.

I use the automatic updates but instead of automatically installing them I save them to disk first then scan them before I install them

well....windows update is silly it gets the pc slower and it brings trouble ....u wanna play safe turn the update off

are you sure this was authentic from the microsoft web site?
