Since having a baby last year my hair has fallen out and is re-growing badly. I've got shoulder length hair, but the re-growth is tufty bits all around the front so I can't do anything with it! I'd like to get it cut short so that it can grow out again properly, but he just keeps saying it looks fine even though I'm practically in tears every time I look in the mirror...

If you think you will feel better with short hair then I say go for it especially if you feel that it is patchy. Lets face it it isnt suddenly going to become full and beautiful again if you leave it.
Tell him that it is temporary and also will make you feel better if you grown it out properly. Also ask your hairdresser to give you a sexy choppy cut that he will find really cute...dont just get it cut short for the ease of it. If you get some colours through it it may transform you and make you feel sexier, If you feel sexy you will look sexy simple as that!

If he really loves you then he will deal with the short hair until it starts growing in again. It doesn't take long to grow back. If you are upset with how your hair is to the point of tears and he still is trying to get you to keep it long then his best interest is what he finds attractive and not what you are going through. Cut it. If nothing else he will show his true feeling for you which might suck but you will know before you get deeper into life with him. Sorry but I just can't be too nice to someone who might only love you for your looks.

Do what makes YOU feel better. Men are like that. For some reason they would rather have their girlfriends/wives walking around with bad damaged hair because its "long" than have them have healthy nice looking hair and have it be shorter. The only way to get your hair back to its healthy ways is to give it a trim. If he loves u he will love u no matter what length your hair is. And he should be more supportive of your decisions. As long as u dont look like a man/boy afterwards it should be nothing wrong with getting a nice feminine haircut. Its just hair it will grow back

I think the most important issue here is your self confidence. If having your hair cut short is going to make you feel better about yourself go for it, you don't need his permission to do it. Hair can always grow back. Some short cuts are really cute, and you never know when he sees it on you it might just change his mind ;)

Of course you want to look good and feel happy with yourself, so you should do whatever you'd like. But, have you talked to your hair stylist to see if that's the best way to get it to grow out? Maybe she/he has another thought and at least entertain their comment. I'm sure if your boyfriend loves you he'll find you attractive no matter what you look like. Personally, I'd talk to the hair dresser first. Good luck.

if you want it cut hun cut it, its only hair it will grow back, if he loves you he should understand how your feeling and having short hair shouldn't matter one bit in your relationship
your going to be the same person no matter what,does he think just because you have short hair your going to change into a completely different person?

It's your hair and you have the choice to cut it or not. If you want to cut it, then by all means, cut it. Your boyfriend doesn't have a say in the matter. If he gets mad, he'll get over it. If he doesn't, then he needs to grow up.

Look, You dress to please your self you fix your hair according to how you look you have to be happy with yourself before anyone can be happy with you. After you get the look you want and your boyfriend sees that it really makes you happy, trust me he will like it, he may not even admitt it he will. Go for it Cut your hair girl!

Try alternating your shampoos for Manuka shampoo and conditioner. These are non astringent and smell great as for the hair he loves you the way you are, what more could a girl want.
