congrats!

There are simple exercises which will increase the chance of normal delivery : Walking everyday after 5 months or as advised by the doctor, Giving flexibility to the hip by brooming or mopping but should not be strenous.

Diet also plays a major role. The weight of the mother should be constantly watched - towards the end much weight gain is not advisable.

Be cautious about BP, Pregnancy induced diabetes and importantly keep her happy. Listening to music for pregnancy by OJAS foundation also helps.

all the best.

Don't gain too much weight. Many woman have to have c-sections because the baby is too big to come out naturally.

Exercise regularly. This will get you ready for the "marathon" of labor so that she doesn't tire out while in labor and is forced into a situation of a c-section because she is too tired or the baby is in distress. A great book - Maternal Fitness by Julie Tupler teaches exercises and basic ways to prepare your body.

Yoga - some of the positions help push the baby in the head down position - cats pose and other positions can facilitate this.

but you must also maintain an open mind, because there are times when it is simply unavoidable and if you are more flexible it will not be a shock to you if you have to have a c-section for medical reasons.

I've had both - my natural birth was all natural, no drugs and nothing, and my second birth was an emergency csection that was traumatic mostly because I was SO SET against it and I couldn't conceive of having one. That made the experience all the worse.

THat being said, the c-section had certain advantages (and they actually benefit the man if you get my drift) and healing time is very similar.

for her to saty active throughout her preganncy to help have a smoother delivery. eat right plenty of water ect.... walk regularly. helps the baby drop mfaster and u have a fatser delivery. try not to gain like 50 pounds or anything because that is more than the recommended weight gain and will be hard to have an easy delivery. recommended 25 to 30 pounds. Go to the dovtor on your regular appointments to stay on top of her health. aviod too many sweets because they can caus egestational diabets causing a larger than normal baby making it impossible for natural delivery. tell her to try not to change too much from how she regularly is and shell be fine. i was so nervous about that and had 3 naturally.

Sorry to tell you but there is no such thing as an easy delivery or labor. That is why they call it labor. Just reassure her that everything will be okay and be there for her.

There's nothing you can do to guarantee a normal delivery.

sometimes c-sections just aren't avoidable i don't think anyone really wants one. as long as everything is proceeding well then there wont be any need for one. it is out of your control once labor starts.
