If you had, you would be able to see them, either on the comb or on your head when carefully parting your hair.
It's not always nits that cause head scratching though. My son has very short hair and scratches his head as a habit, moreso when he's stressed or sweaty! Or, it could be a reaction to whatever products you use on your hair.

if your hair is fine then sometimes the comb doesnt pick them up,thicken your hair with conditioner and use the comb they cant cling to hair then,but it could just be a dry itchy scalp,if you have dandruff then t gel is a good remedy,i hope you havent got them there bloody awful my kids have em all the time!!

change your hair shampoo try one that you can use regular some shampoo's can make your hair itchy an sore it worked for me ..
