can an ADSL switch bring viruses to a computer ??

my computer got infected just after i set up my new ADSL switch. I know it isnt likely BUT just incase the brand name is SURECOM...

NO... You need to make sure you have an anti-virus software and spyware program running. Otherwise your computer is open for anyone to do anything they want to it.
