If a woman has a high IQ, how much does this affect her desirabililty status? Are most guys intimidated by women who are intelligent, or do they see female brainpower as a "plus" or a "necessity"? Come on guys (and ladies), I would really like to hear your thoughts on this issue. All ages are welcome to relate their perspectives. ;)

It makes a woman much more interesting.

I do believe, though, that people are best off staying around their same "level". Not out of any predjudice, but it's hard to have something in common and build a relationship with someone who can't follow some of your thinking.

The love of my life (RIP) had an IQ of152, while mine was 164. And I have a hard time even dating a "normal" woman after that (not meant to be sexist!). I have plenty of male and female friends with "normal" IQs.

From my exp, higher IQ people just have different concerns in life. Not usually worried about what clothes to wear, or people's opinions.

I am a woman with an IQ of 131, not a genius, but pretty intelligent. I know a little about a lot of subjects, and can do a lot of things that are usually considered to be a man's domain.
I am constantly annoying blokes because they feel inferior to me. My ex-husband would purposely bring up a subject to debate with me, and when I gave my opinion or answered the question, he'd storm off yelling that I thought I was so f'ing smart so what did I need him for. My current partner, when we disagree, says "well, you're the smart one, you have all the answers, don't you" and will go out of his way to try to prove himself right and to make me look stupid. I'll be asked a question, but when I give the answer as I believe it to be, it's like he'll purposely do the opposite of what I advise just in case he happens to be right. When it does turn out I knew what I was talking about, it's like I did it on purpose to point out his stupidity (which I do not believe, as I think he's intelligent in his own way).
Female brainpower is definately not a plus, I wish I had been born dumb, because then I wouldn't know the answers and have them ignored just to make a point. Then I wouldn't have the glares when I manage to answer the questions on the game shows. You would think guys, or people for that matter, would admire someone for intelligence instead of ridiculing people for it.
High IQ = low desirability, in my experience.

I would say the majority of men will fall for a girl that is of average intelligence.

I'm personally not intimidated by a woman of high intelligence. Actually, that probably turns me on if anything. I don't get anything out of spending time with vegetable; I want someone that can keep up with me and be on a similar page intellectually.

So yea, it's a plus for me. It's not necessary though, but there are limits as to how stupid a woman I would date could be :p

Intelligent men enjoy and need an intelligent partner. Otherwise, they become bored and resentful quickly with a woman who cannot understand them or hold an intelligent conversation. Bright men need the stimulus of an intelligent woman to do their best - a woman who questions and makes rational assessments of a situation.

I think that only insecure or dull men want a woman to be dumb (or play dumb). Some men cannot deal with the fact that a woman is smarter then they are and are intimidated - or else they need to bully her into submission. These men see women as second-class citizens, put on earth to serve them.

Only men who are not sure of their mental capability consider women's high IQ a thread.

A clever men, to generalize a clever human, would rather desire another person with the same or even higher IQ.

Since a real high IQ doesn't make the person bossy and eager to show off. On the contrary, low IQ might be very difficult to cope with and even dangerous in a relationship that needs to function.

I think that the desirability of high IQ in a parter totally depends on the IQ of the beholder... Men confidant in their own mental capacity aren't going to be threatened by a woman with an equitable or superior intellectual ability. Anyways, the type of men to whom women with higher IQs are attracted aren't usually the ones who are jaded by gender-ideals that require a man to be better/stronger than a woman.

I prefer intelligent women but I've been with women with a broad range of IQs and frankly it's not mandatory for a woman to be smart. I've been happy with less intelligent women. But they can't be too low in the IQ scale.

Depends on if the guy wants a trophy wife or a best friend.

Most people gravitate towards others of a similar IQ for friends. That's what keeps the conversations interesting... when both people are on the same wavelength.

Some men love their women to be stupid, or better they want their women to be beautiful just to show them around, as they do with their cars. Some other men wants their women to be intelligent (or at least not stupid) because they like to have a conversation with them.
In any case I don't think anybody asks the result of IQ texts to the persons they meet.

Men have 30% more muscle mass than women. Unfortunately, some men are lead to believe that being "bigger" equals "smarter". More often than not, this is not the case. Women that have access to higher education usually have higher IQ's and get better grades than their male counterparts. Again, unfortunately, in the working world, most men are granted the better jobs and promotions, merely because they are men. Women are much more emotional and physically weaker, but in the greater scheme of things, more intelligent.
