My car keeps getting trashed, the wing mirror was smashed and i had to pay for a new one,not cheap. Now over the weekend someone has smashed it again, the same one,not a car cos it was on the pavement side. I get really upset when i see this,it's not parked on it's own,and it doesn't attract attention,R reg golf. What can i do about it? I have no faith in the police or council, not that they would care!

Someone has a grudge against you.

Set up a spy-video to watch your car and see who is doing the damage.

It sounds like somebody is out for your car!
I have had the same actually, and it is always on the passenger side, that is nearest to the pavement. The first attack was the wing mirror and the latest one was with paint stripper (see my Yahoo Question: http://uk.answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AlDeCVXrE8ZspCOICB_ktlAgBgx.?qid=20070228025812AAt4I6G).
What I would do is set up a web cam in your living room pointing at your car and record everything! (I ended up using my digital cambra to take photo's) and then pass it onto the police (Mind as yet all I have had off them is a letter saying that the crime has been investigated & the street light opposit has been replaced!)
Unfortantly there is not alot else that you can do!

I am sorry this is happening to you, but you must keep reporting these incidents then the police and council might finally do something. Ask your neighbours to keep a look out for you and ask if they have seen anything. Our neighbour had a similar problem he had no idea why he was being targeted he is an old man who rarely leaves his house or talks to people, the kids had to decided to target his car. After five months of this he changed his car and they didn't realise this other one was his and they have stopped vandalising it. In the worst case scenario you could change your car.

It happens regularly in my area, this is is the modern way the lowlife get their kicks, they get an Adrenalin run from the destruction they cause. The police are powerless as there usually is no evidence and the lowlifes know this. Only thing I can think of is when the odd one or two are caught birch them, it may put the others off.
The way things are going, with the law as it is, we shall have to carry on regardless, having our property damaged by scumbags

Park in a different spot. You could tell the police but it is unlikely that they would be of any help. Maybe someone has a grudge against you. Tick anyone off lately?

Got a mad Boyfriend? Upset neighbor? Are you blocking a driveway or taking someone's parking place? Do your math.

saw a program once where a family set up a camcorder after similar incidents and it was a mentally unbalanced neighbour doing it

wait up to catch whoever it is, bound to be the same person, then hit them with a stick.
