AMD lovers and INTEL lovers.I dont want you to answer on the base of the performance by the processors high end versions.Just tell me which runs faster and has more performance.

For desktops I am a fan of AMD and for laptops I preferr the Intel celeron.

As for a dual core cpu obviously you would have to use Vista to take advantage of its power. Next you would have to have software designed to use the dual core...

IMHO I would still wait on getting a dual core until there was a particular game I wanted to run which requires the dual core power. Otherwise a modest upgrade to your existing system may be a better short term play.

I still haven't read or heard anyone really rave about Vista either.... you also run the risk of prematurely obsoleteing your hardware by upgrading to Vista as dirver support may not be available.

it would help if i had more info like, wut version of windows, wut video card, how much ram, but when both are set for optimal performance, intel always runs faster and is more reliable than a amd, and also, how extreme are you on your gaming, im running a p4 3.0 gghrtz with 2 gigs ddr2 ram, 800 mghrtz frontside bus, with the new asus pci video card, asus motherboard, and it runs great for me
