Probably because it has been taken over by Mexicans,I know where I live which is not far from Indiana it is the same way, majority of people here are Mexican,Mexican businesses on every street corner, everything is written in Spanish and everyone caters to them in every way.

Because of the abundance of immigrants here. As a Hoosier myself I see them everywhere from the the cities to the small towns like the one I live in. There is alot of agriculture here so their is a heavy demand. Tons and tons of tomatoes are in the fields around my house as well as two camps fro the workers to live. The number around here is so great that the grocery store in my home town has devoted a whole isle to south of the border foods and ingredients within the last year. Every where you go you see English signs as well as Spanish. This is why it is called "Little Mexico".
