Like most things that you are new to - it can seem difficult at first. But with practice it becomes easier. The main thing will be to try and relax when you are doing this and to find a time and place that will be quiet and private - which will make you feel more relaxed. The link below will give you more detailed information that may explain this to you in a better way. It's important that you remember to change your tampon regulalry to avoid problems.
Good Luck :-)

No, it's not hard at all.
Get the kind with an applicator and read the instructions in the box. There are diagrams so you can see how to do it properly and advice on how to tell it's inserted properly.
I used Lillets (no applicator) when I was a teenager. They're nice because they're discrete to carry around in your bag or your pocket, but I know some girls feel a little squeamish about using non-applicator tampons.

it can be kinda awkward ur first time. get some applicator tampons, and when you do it, stand next to the toilet with one leg up on it i've found is the easiest way. it took me a while to get used to it, but once you do they are soooooo much better than sanitary pads!
