This guy was back from the Cowboy ages.He ends up getting in a gun fight cause he was robbing a bank.He dies and ends up in a place like Perkatory.He's with other people that have been in this perkatory longer then him.One of these people where Jessie James amongst other famous gun slingers.They have to be good or they'll have to go to hell.An Indian gaurds the gate to the pit of fire.The movie shows a couple of people in perkatory who couldn't help doing bad again and end up going through the gates of hell.It's as if they can't stop themselfs from entering the gate as the indian opens the gate.They walk through and just fall into the pit of fire.
Anyway there was a point and time in the movie where Jessie James was trying to avoid a fight.He ducked a few punches from this bad guy and stood in front of a church to stop them from shooting bullets into it because it was the only thing left in this perketory to make it to salvation.A light shines bright and horses and cart come down.

It's a made-for-tv movie called ( Purgatory ) LOL, it is also known as Purgatory West of the Pecos. I really want to see this movie, a room-mate of mine was telling me about it and he said it was really good. You can check out Internet movie data base for more details.
