I don't think this is a good idea considering our borders, jobs, co2 emissions, illegals. What do you think? How can we stop it?

Well, it's in a study and planning phase, but unless and until Congress authorizes money to build it, it will not happen.

If they're supposed to start work on it next year, it would necessarily be in the Federal budget for fiscal year 2008, which starts October 1st.

We'll see about this. Will the President have this spending in his budget? Will the Democrats quietly let this pass? Will there be any public debate? It remains to be seen. Perhaps we all need to contact our CongressCritters.

President Bush and the Mexican President are good friends and they came up with this plan, this is nothing more than a path way to make all the illegals legal in this country. This highway is bad news taxpayers, you know it and you can do something about it, I call my elected officials weekly on this matter and Iraq, they don't hang up on you or anything like that, but you need to demand where you stand.

if you can accept thousands of refugees coming from iraq and afghanistan every year, why can't you build a highway to your main trade partners? you're not making any sense...if you want to take something you have to give something, that's the core of international trade.

What better way to keep your eyes on them. Most trucking running North to south will be on this road so I am sure camera's and other types of spy ware will be used to keep track of all cargo including you vehicle if you drive on it.
