I had two tests that didn't show up positive last year and then the thrid did - they are not fool proof. If your periods are usually regular then there is a good chance .
If not I would really recommend using an ovulation kit. You can buy these from most pharmacys. I was about 4 days out on when I was ovulating so it was not suprising I wasn't getting pregnant. The kit tells you when exactly the egg is there.
We got pregnant the first time we used one. Also my doctor recommended having sex the day before ovulation is due, then having 24 hours off, then having sex again rather than going for it twice a day on the day of ovulation. I think the logic is something about making sure the sperm is strong enough to break into the egg and the more times you have sex the weaker the sperm get. Also the egg lasts for a few days so it is better to put the sperm there first before the egg is fertile. Anyway give it a try and it will happen for you. Good luck and try to stay happy.

Hi,
I feel for you, it took almost 12 weeks to get a positive with my first child and with my 3rd baby I was sick every day so bad that I had to have medication to keep water down - still NO positive result until I was 7 weeks gone.
You may be one of these ladies that implant very late - bear in mind implantatin can occur between 4-16 days past ovulation (usually around day 7-10 though) - hcg builds in your system - it doubles every 24-36 hours.
If you implante late and your hcg is doubling after 36-48 hours chances are you won't get a full on positive result yet. A blood test should show it up, but again they are not always right.
Hold tight, wait another couple of days and test again. If still negative bully your GP into a blood test.
I hope you feel better soon and best of luck

Hello! I have also had your problem!
It took three years to get preg with my first baby and so we were determined to have our second asap before my 'problems' reared up again!
I took a test when my daughter was 3 months old which said neg but I was sooo sure I got three more... all said neg. I rang my doctor and he said that I was 'feeling' pregnant only because my hormones were still returning to normal. So I left it another week and visited doc again (By this time i was over 2 weeks late) He ran a blood test and I had to wait a week for the results they came back as nothing detected! Again I plodded off to docs as by this time boobs were sore and feeling sick etc. It turned out he hadn't even done the blood tests for Pregnancy as he was so convinced I was not, instead he had checked for anemia. They wouldn't do a test so I got one in the chemist on the way home and low and behold a VERY faint line came up positive. (The line was strong and dark with my first daughter when I was only a day late so I still wasn't convinced!)
needless to say I am now 4 days from my due date and really looking forward to my so called 'Phantom' baby!
Don't give up. Trust how your body feels and see what happens.
All the best!

With my first pregnancy 26 years ago, I was a week late when the doc did my first pregnancy test (after trying for about a year to get pregnant). It was negative. One week later, he did my second test, it was still negative. If I had a third negative test a week after that, they were going to run tests. However, on the third test (with still no period), they finally got a positive. We were positively thrilled, so hold onto hope, and I wish you both the best.

i have good news!!!! I'm pregnant with my 2nd child after 6 months of trying. I'm 4 weeks and 4 days. i also had a couple of months where i was late and had all the symptoms, i think when you really want something your mind can play tricks on you. i hope you do get good news. if not dont worry and try again, i found out that its best to forget about it and concentrate on something else, at the time of ovulation i was hosting my son's 3rd birthday party, i guess with all the stress it just happened! keep busy for the next month and fingers crossed it will happen for you. good luck xxx

In the end it was wrong, it took 2months for the home tests to show that I was PG.I really hope yr test comes back +.I will keep my fingers crossed for you.
