A friend is a bad influence when that friend puts himself in jeopardy, whether it be trouble or danger. That show lacking of the thought process that would bring about better decision making and less trouble. If a person consistently makes poor choices and I have them as my friend, sooner or later I might be drawn into following in his footsteps and I'll be in jeopardy too. Knowing better than to do that and being influenced to do that anyway is a bad influence. A friend who is a bad influence is not really a friend if they lead you into troubled waters. Life is stressful enough without having to run from trouble all the time.

A friend should never be a bad influence because you should never allow anyone to influence you. If they try to be, just cut the friendship off because they are not a real friend if they TRY to drag you into anything you do not want to do.

a "friend" is a bad influence any time they cause or want you to do ANYTHING that is wrong. There are a lot of them out there. Some don't purposely mean it. But some do.
