To be brutally honest it is about 90% copy and audio typing which if you are in something like conveyancing can be very moionotonous - there ios handling calls and copying documentation too on the admin side. Weigh up whether you would be happy to do the same thing day in day out - you can progress in these roles by studing to become legal execs etc but uit is a long road - before becoming a legal secretary it is worth considering what part of the law you would prefer to work in - wills and probabe, commercial, litigation, conveyancing etc.

Good luck

Legal administrative assistants or secretaries prepare correspondence and legal papers such as summonses, complaints, motions, responses, and subpoenas under the supervision of an attorney or paralegal. They also may review legal journals and assist in other ways with legal research, such as verifying quotes and citations in legal briefs.

Legal assistants must be well-trained, perhaps through vocational programs that teach specialized courses. Legal secretaries should consider advanced certification. Those who are acquire the Accredited Legal SEcretary (ALS) designation through a testing process administered by the International Association of Administrative Professionals.

It is hard work. I have been a legal secretary for 27 years. Be prepared to put your job first. There are opportunities to climb the ladder if you work for the right people. It is stressful and demanding but can also be very rewarding. You have to be a bit of a tough cookie at times and it can change your outlook on life (sceptical perhaps). Good Luck.

If I'm not mistaken it should be Legal Secretariat. The job involves lots of corporate work such as filing of Board Meeting documents, Financials, etc.. Can be quite mandane and is definitely not a 9-5 job. One must be very good in follow-up work.
