Me and my boyfriend are trying to save money so we can get our own place and buy thing like fridge, washing machine ..ect..
We were living together already but with my mum..and now we're going to live with his mum..anyways that is not the point.
The thing is he told me to hide the money away from him because if he see's it ..he'll spend it..i dont want to put it in my account because i'll also spend it if its in there.
I had money hidden away from him for a while until he found it..he was honest and told me..and he counted it..but didnt take any of it..but now i need a new place to hide the money..i dont know where..any ideas?

Actually my girlfriend and I are doing the same thing. We also are in the same boat with me spending money.
My attitude is, we make good money so I should be able to spend some of it.
The thing you have to do is talk with your boyfriend and find out where his priority's are. I want to buy a house and all the good things too but I cant if I keep on spending money. So what we do now is I give her ALL my money when I get paid and she gives me an allowance (something small) and I'm good. If I need more, we talk about and see if it is important and worth spending. In the end I know its the best for our family and hopefully he will too.
In the end I spend less and no one has to do any kind of sneaking around (with money). Just open the lines of communication.
It works for us.

Buy a box of Velveeta cheese, and eat or discard the cheese. Put your money into the cheese box and stuff it back into the fridge where the cheese would normally go. As long as your mom, or his mom, or he, would not eat the cheese, the money would be safe. Any other food-type box could work, just make sure it's something that the person has no interest in. Also, make sure they never are the one whose task is to clean out the fridge (or they might inadvertently throw it out).
I really doubt that anyone else, i.e. a burglar, would ever go looking in the fridge for valuables, much less go through all the things in the fridge that could contain something valuable. Hopefully, it will be safe there. I think that "hiding in plain sight" is one of the best ways to go.

See if you can arrange to open a savings account at a small bank or credit union that is out of your way to get too and doesn't have lots of ATMs. Then have a portion of your check direct deposited into that account. Do not get a debit card linked to that account.
If the money is more difficult to get to, the temptation to spend it won't be there. Also, if it's direct deposited it will be less likely that you'll remember it's there and want to spend it.
You also have to decide what's more important. Saving money or spending it on things you want now and instant gratification.

Personally, I'd get rid of the boyfriend if he's going to steal money from you.
The safest place to put it is in a bank. If you have a bunch of cash in the house, a thief could steal it, the house could burn, any number of things.
Why would it be any easier to spend it if it's in the bank than it would be if you have it hidden in the house?
Open a separate savings account at a bank. At least you'll be getting a bit of interest on it that way. It's not earning a cent hidden under your mattress.

Place the money in a term/fixed deposit and instruct the bank to roll-over automatically upon each maturity. This way the money earns money for you and you don't have access to the money - well, sort of until you need them.

For any body savings are necessary
you told that you will spend when you have money in your hands
so just make a fixed deposit in a bank (for year or so)for short term needsor take a lic policy with long term objective so that it will be help ful in future for your childern and when you retire etc
or invest in any mutual fund company so you can get money when ever you want with higher rate of return than in bank

When my sister and her husband had money problems, they hired a money manager. He put them on a budget and gave them an allowance. They took their bills to him and he paid them from their account. They ended up saving money, and got out of debt.

Dig a hole and hide it there, then use a map to find it when you need it

If he needs you to hide it, it's not in your best interest to buy anything with him.
