No, Malaysians can come to Taiwan without a visa.
Countries eligible for Visa-exempt entry: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Darussalam, Canada, Costa Rica, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Republic of Korea, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Monaco, the Netherlands , New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, U.K. and U.S.A.

So, No. You dont need a visa to visit Taiwan e.t.c.

For Malaysians you don't need to apply for any Visa. We are given a 30 days free landing visa. But if you intend to stay more than 30 days than you are advice to apply for a visa beforehand which will allow you for an extensions. Landing visa are NOT allow for extension inside Taiwan.

Malaysian do not require visa to visit Taiwan unless you stay more than 30days than you will need to apply for it.

No ,, Malaysia Passport holder who like to stay here less then 30 days ,, no need visa.. just take passport ,buy ticket and fly... and enjoy here in Taiwan...

Sorry, but I have to laugh at Ajeet's answer. First he says you have to have a visa, then he names Malaysia as a visa exempt country.

I would suspect you do need a visa.
