The answer might lie in some studies I read about Filipino culture: We are raised to care more about our immediate circle of family and friends than care about the entire community, or the country, for that matter. Any Filipino in office will have to become aware of this cultural thing.

Are they? I'm married to a half-Filipino and half white american who has no clue about his Filipino heritage so this is really interesting to me. Would be interesting to read the answers.

we are voting incompetent people...or the candidates who run for the election are all incompetent and we have no choice but to choose from the candidates who is less worthless and corrupt
